Bargain Beauty

You will all have to forgive me as I’m not a very good blogger lately.  I’m up to my eyes with other stuff so blogging has not been very frequent over the last few weeks.  Anyway, that aside, today I want to tell you about some budget beauty bargains.

In my February Favourites post I mentioned my love for Original Source’s plum and blackcurrant shower gel.  I’m a big fan of Original Source but I have a special gra for this gel.  It smells amazing.  I purchased mine in Dealz for €1.49.

I really like polka dot nails and with the right tools they are super easy to create.  I found a whole set of nail tools in Dealz.  This is a real bargain and I’m delighted with the set.

Penneys is a treasure trove of amazingness and their PS range continues to get better.  I recently bought their new foundation to sample.  It is €3.  The foundation is oil free and has a medium but buildable coverage.  I won’t lie, I probably won’t be wearing this on a night out or for an occasion but for a daytime look or for work it is perfect.  The staying power is fantastic and far exceeds its price tag.

A brush holder is always a handy device for storage or travel purposes.  They can, however, be quite expensive but Penneys have released them in three colours for €4.50 each.

I have been using their new nail varnish remover for a while.  It has a push-pump which makes life a while lot easier.  It easily removes all traces of varnish including glitter.  It is a bargain for €1.50.

The PS Nudes palette contains nine shadows which are surprisingly pigmented and long lasting.  I have only used this palette twice but I have been very pleased with it.  The quality of the shadows is great.  The palette costs €2.50.

A few weeks ago I ordered a brush from eBay.  I’m not sure if the correct term for it is a toothbrush but that’s what I’m calling it.  I paid €1.52 for the brush and I have tried it a couple of times.  I’m not really sure what to make of it.  I suppose my overall view is that it is grand.  It is a little rougher than normal brushes and I found it a bit hard on my skin but overall it did give good coverage and essentially did the job.  I’m not convinced it would replace my regular brushes just yet but it is good value for money.  I’d recommend that if you’re looking to try one of these brushes, perhaps start with this version.

I’m a fiend for liquid liner and my favourite is Catrice’s waterproof version.  I have written about this liner time and time again.  It is amazing, truly amazing and I can’t recommend it enough.  It is under €5.

Lastly I want to mention what is probably the best bargain of this post.  Kiko eyeshadows are incredible.  They are €1.90 and I honestly can’t believe how good they are for their price.  I bought my shadows in Paris but they can be shipped from their website.  The pigmentation is absolutely fantastic and they last all day long.  I have a glitter pigment shadow and it stays shimmery and pretty all day without dropping glitter dust all over my face.

That’s it for today’s budget beauty.  What are your favourite bargain bits and pieces?
