Being a chocolate lover and a vegan aren’t always two things that go well together. Then of course, there is the search to find an ethical chocolate company supporting the environment and the cocoa farmers they work with.
Luckily, I found Chocolatey Clare on Instagram one day and bought a mint chocolate bar. I was hooked from the first bite.
Based in Dublin, Chocolatey Clare creates delicious treats that are 100% vegan, dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free, and palm oil free. Clare’s chocolate is made with just 4 ingredients which are ethically and sustainably sourced.
I’m a big supporter of Chocolatey Clare’s ethos of ethical and sustainable practice. Clare is committed to the environment and all packaging is fully plastic-free and is compostable/recyclable and printed with vegetable-based ink.
Now what about the chocolate itself, I here you ask. For me, I find that a lot of vegan chocolate is either really dark, which I don’t like, or tastes like cooking chocolate which I also don’t like. It can sometimes be an expensive let-down. This is not the case with Clare’s chocolate.
Clare’s original collection is being phased out and is being replaced with a new Artist Collection which I’ll discuss further down. I recently bought both Really Raspberry and Simply Strawberry. These chunky chocolate bars are packed with sweet fruity deliciousness. The chocolate is creamy, rich and decadent. I loved these.
Now to the Artist Collection which is a feast for all of the senses. The bar itself is a work of art which is no accident. They look like an art deco dream and were designed with (visually impaired ) Irish artist Clara Ryder.
I tried the Ginger Firecracker bar. Again, the chocolate was rich, creamy dreaminess. The snap of ginger added to the opulence of the bar and gives a kick which is accompanied by the crispy bite of rice. This was a true treat and I loved it. The chocolate tasted as beautiful as it looked and looked as beautiful as it tasted.
If you’re going to treat yourself, you might as well engage in full indulgence with Chocolatey Clare. Your taste buds will be tingling with gratitude.
