This week I was delighted to be invited to meet the creators behind Image Skincare Janna and Marc Ronert. The event took place in the very elegant Merrion Hotel and was hosted by the lovely ladies of Publicity Loft. Before the workshop took place we were introduced to both Janna and Marc as well as Image staff member Mimi. Janna is incredibly glamorous and was very friendly to all of us. After she and Dr. Marc chatted to us about the brand we then spoke with Mimi. She was so chatty, funny and lovely. She has me converted to Image’s lip balm and it is definitely now on my wishlist.
When we moved into the actual workshop there were long tables full of Image goodies to try. There was also an abundance of food including cupcakes, pastries and mini portions of chips. The Publicity Loft really knows how to put on a show.
Janna began the workshop by telling us about the origins of the brand. She started to create the band in her apartment having worked as a rep for other companies. Image was born as she suffered with rosacea and was looking for suitable skincare. In a relatively short amount of time Image grew and now boasts a huge range with something for everyone. There is something for extremely sensitive skin, oily skin, anti-aging and everything in between. Dr. Marc spoke about the science and technology behind the products.
As I said there were plenty of products on the table but further items were passed around the room. These were from the Iluma range. The Iluma range focuses on lightening, brightening and illuminating. The literature states “quickly diminishes all forms of pigmentation from sun spots to melasma. Formulated by plastic surgeons, this revolutionary intense lightening line utilises the latest technology in plant-derived stem cells, peptides and botanics to correct and prevent pigmentation and uneven skin tone”.
The first of these products was the Intense Lightening cleanser. It is a gel that turns to milk when mixed with water. The cleanser is paraben free.
The next item was the exfoliating powder. It is made with coconut milk, pumpkin and papaya. It provides long-term hydration and boosts radiance.
The lightening serum treats redness and inflamation. The serum is also great for rosacea, sun-damage, irritation and sensitive skin.
The brightening cream is like a moisturiser and assists with age spots and hyperpigmentation. It can be used on the face, neck and eyelids.
The body lotion feels amazing on the skin as it as a slight tingle. Again it helps with age spots and uneven skin tone.
The hand cream feels very similar and it contains UVA. It leaves the hands soft, moisturised and protected.
The eye cream is one of Image’s best sellers. It contains phytonutrients, peptides and innovative lightening agents. The whole room was amazed by this products, especially when Dr. Marc told us that there should be a visible difference in the eye area after 48 hours. I can’t describe the delight when we found out we were each getting one to take home and try.
Dr. Marc and Janna also explained to us that usually it takes a minimum of 28 days to notice any difference with skin products as that’s how long it takes for cell renewal. Their workshop was very informative and I learned a lot.
My favourite thing about the workshop was how Janna spoke about Marc. They have been married for a number of years and she repeatedly mentioned their journey together. It was very sweet and I thought it was so nice to hear their love story throughout the workshop. It made it more memorable and not at all corporate.
Upon leaving, we were each given a goodie bag with a make-up bag, eye cream and exfoliating powder from the Iluma range and The Max Stem Cell masque. I have tried the powder and I will report back in a few weeks. I’m yet to try the masque. I have been using the eye cream for about 72 hours and I have honestly fallen in love with it. The cream feels amazing on my eyes and leaves them hydrated all day.
I really enjoyed the evening and my thanks to all involved.
